Erin saw Dr. Lallana, the neuro-oncologist, this afternoon, and he said that the MRI
taken yesterday afternoon was great. Erin was shocked. She thought that the tumor
had recurred. Clark had just the opposite feelings. He thought that it was not
productive for her to be having an MRI every 6 months … that they wouldn’t find
When Dr. Lallana said to return in 6 months after another MRI, I questioned whether
they had to be that often. He said that if she were 80 with a short life expectancy,
then he would have her return in a year or two. But, at her age, when she may live
for another 20, 30, or 40 years, he would like to have her have an MRI every 6 months.
The tumor could recur in 6 months or never. 95% of the people with her history are
dead. So, treatment at this point is a guess.
Afterwards, Erin wanted to go to Starbucks. She used the card that Paco and Tommy
had given her, and treated us.
