5 Year Survival – Friday, July 4, 2014

5 years ago today on July 4th, Erin was diagnosed with a brain tumor which turned out to be a glioblastoma (GBM). The mean survival rate for a GBM is 14 months, so Erin has beaten the odds and survived 5 years.

She had planned to go with Clark and me to Brandon and Lisa’s annual 4th of July party, but in the midafternoon, Erin decided not to go. She is sleeping heavily and has just uttered a word or two when I have talked to her.
