What a Weekend!

Steve reporting:

We had a busy fun weekend. On Friday evening, we all went to Paco’s first baseball game of the season. Erin, Tommy, my mother, and I were all there to see his team win 19-0… I was umping from behind the plate.

He had another game on Saturday. This one was a much closer-caught battle. Both teams played extremely hard. It was tied 6-6 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. Paco was up with one out and a teammate on first. He nailed a solid double into deep right field to drive in the winning RBI!

During the game, Tommy played nonstop with the little brothers and sisters of Paco’s teammates. He had insisted on bringing some of his toy trains to share with them.

Still riding the adrenaline rush, we went to our friends’ home for a party. It was a late night and Paco and Tomas passed out quickly when we go home.

Today was St. Patricks, so we continued our tradition of corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. My parents once again joined us… It is great having them just ten minutes away.

It was certainly a busy and fun weekend. First please allow this other grandma to brag a bit: After that final run, Paco was named MVP of the day!
Just seeing him so happy and proud was worth the mosquito bites…
And yes, being just ten minutes away from them is something I had never imagined. We are so happy to be able to participate like this! …until they tell us we are too close and to stay at home more.
Tommy loves the rainbow ice-cones at the baseball park.
