Erin and Raquel Oct 21, 2012

Patricia, I agree with you. It seems as if a requirement of being an au pair is that they

be gorgeous. Raquel, the new au pair, is from Bucaramanga, Colombia. I just checked

and it has a population of 510,000 in the city and 1.2 million in the metropolitan area,

so it is kind of like Sacramento in size.

Raquel has her master’s degree in International Economics. So, Erin commented that

Raquel is more educated than Erin.

Steve, the boys, Raquel, and Steve’s parents, Mike and Judy. picked up Erin here

this morning and then headed in 2 cars to Apple Hill in the foothills on Hwy 50.

They included a visit to the ranch of Barbara and Larry Goyette, friends of mine,

who feature picking your own apples.

    This is Judy reporting.
It was a dream come true of a day! We all had a wonderful time; the boys ran, and played and picked apples and pumpkins; and Tommy crawled in the dirt, and got happily filthy… and was exhausted!
Erin also enjoyed everything; had no trouble communicating, and bonded with Raquel.
We had a delicious late lunch at a Mexican place and brought home enough leftovers for a complete dinner the next day.
A day to remember and add to the family traditions!
