Clark and I met Erin and Raquel, the au pair, in Woodland today for lunch at a

Mexican
restaurant called Paco’s. Erin seemed very bubbly and articulate. Occasionally, we
would fill in a word for her, but for the most part it was clear what she was saying.

After lunch Raquel went home to Davis so she could pick up the boys at school, and
the rest of us went to Costco to see if they carried Dos Coyote’s green chili stew.
Dos Coyote’s is a local chain of Southwestern cuisine restaurants which Erin likes.
I had read in yesterday’s paper that Dos Coyotes and Costco had formed an
alliance. The Woodland Costco did carry it, so we bought some for both families.

When we got back to Davis at 3, Brandon and Beck were there. Beck was very
absorbed in Tommy’s Thomas the Tank Engine train. When Tommy arrived home
from school about 20 min later, he was very protective of his train.

There was some discussion that Colleen and Wheeler were going to visit Erin
and family in the evening. Somehow we all decided to descend on Erin the same
day. But, she seemed up to it.

On my way home I discovered that I had lost an earring. I wrote Erin and Steve
and asked them to keep an eye our for it.Tonight I had a message from Steve
that Eagle eyes Erin found it!
