Laurie arrived just as Mary Elena, Susy, Colleen, Steve, Paco, and Tommy were leaving.
She and Erin went to El Camino HIgh School together. They were juniors when Laurie’s
mother died of a glioblastoma. They reunited in Davis where Laurie’s daughters go to
the same school as Paco.
As we were standing in the hallway saying goodbye to Laurie, the door bell rang, and it
was Clark’s youngest son, Craig, who had just flown in from Las Vegas. Erin and Craig
had not met before. Erin gave Craig and Clark each a Cadbury egg, then went off to
nap.
Clark had just been home for a little while after going out with Craig to see oldest son,
Jim, when my friend Adele stopped by with ice cream for Erin. Quite a busy day!

Wow! Erin’s having quite a social life. How wonderful to have a visit from the Spanish teachers. I also remember Erin’s enthusiasm for Spanish.
I am resting up after being in charge of the club Plant Sale today. In 3 hours we brought in over $2400(used for horticultural scholarships). This sale is in a grocery parking lot. Between 7:00 and 9:00 people bring their plants and garden boutique items. People line up waiting to get their plants. At 9:00 we cut the ribbon and people rush to get the bargain plants. Members grow, pot, make id tags and put in prices on each plant. I had over 100 plants. Fortunately Grandson Danny and his friend came over Thursday and helped us place the plants down our path to be picked up on Friday. The weather cooperated.
At the end(12:00) members of Purrfect Pals, a cat rescue group, picked up our leftover plants and they will have a sale. Proceeds will help the cat group. That saves us having to take leftover plants home. It worked out well for both groups.
Tomorrow we celebrate Cam’s 9th birthday. This evening I went to TJMaxx which is close by to get him a gift. I did not have the energy to go to any mall.
Now to rest again,
Barb
