Comcast paid us another visit today …. this time to extend the TV cable to Erin’s room. They had been out a couple of weeks ago, but wouldn’t do the installation without Homeowner’s Association written approval which I got this week. Now Erin will be able to watch TV in her room on her new little TV.
Erin was feeling sore today in a good way after her visit from Lucy yesterday who gave her a Bowen’s treatment, sort of a message.
Clark cooked cioppino this afternoon while Patricia and I were at bridge, and Erin really liked it. It was accompanied by French bread which Erin and Patricia spread with room temperature butter, whereas Clark and I put cold fresh butter chunks on ours.
Erin is wearing her new turquoise, fushia, and lime green hat which cousin Tom made and hand delivered by Patricia. Erin is cold most of the time.
Tonight Brandon, Lisa, and Beck came by and Beck played his guitar for us and ran around non-stop …. ah, the energy of a 2-year-old.

Oh, yum, cioppino! How great that Clark cooks. We had a really nice New Year’s eve at a friends. The hosts’ two daughters had their 2 and 4 year old boys so we know about energy of little boys like Beck. They invited friends and we had two soups and other good food. One daughter taught us the game of banana grams. When the daughters left with their little ones we were having such a nice time chatting around their round table that we never returned to the game. It was a great , relaxed way to spend New Year’s Eve. today I cook for the Dave Chase & Tiscareno family. So back to the kitchen. Hope Erin enjoys her new TV.

I’m with Erin & Mama Patricia on the room-temperature butter… Produces a nice, even layer on top of the Butter Vehicle.
Glad that Erin is getting some use out of the hat! I was hoping the colors would be OK… They make me think of a 21st Century Christmas.

Sorry guys, I’m in the soft-butter camp as well. If it makes you feel any better, one of the big-name chefs in Denver is so much on your side that he reportedly won’t serve softened butter in his restaurant, even by request. So you have some powerful allies.
And for what it’s worth, I LOVE cioppino!

We did the ciopino in, last night! It was delicious! and yes, the discussion about the butter came up again, and I had no choice but to admit that we use ours at room temperature….. Sorry for the purists, but it doubles the pleasure of some good sourdough bread covered with butter that does not require a fight to spread… Mmmmm!
Paco and Tommy had a nice visit with their Mama and came back home singing, playing and very happy. It was a very nice afternoon!

Glad to hear that all had a great new year celebration. I must put in my vote for butter, room temp is the best. I did not know that there were people out there who preferred the hard butter that rips apart the bread! If the butter is hard, I vote for a few seconds in the microwave to soften it up!
